Coffee with Kevin

Water Water Everywhere, Damage on the Brink
Well it's 4 am and the my coffee pot is percolating away on the single burner hot plate sitting atop the workbench in my workshop. My truck is sitting outside waiting to be loaded with the tarps and other items necessary to deal with my share of the massive amount of water incursion issues coming my way due to two recent rainstorms we've had here in the PNW. So grab yourself a cup of coffee and read along as I impart what I've learned over the years about water and the probl

"Honey-Do" Lists
There's an old saying "Happy Wife Happy Life" and it is often tossed out when there are chores to be done. I suppose we should update this saying by changing it to "Happy Spouse Happy House" so as to not offend anyone. (omg I'm a poet and I didn't even know it)... Anyway to get this post back on topic, most of us have some sort of "To-Do" list compiled whether in our heads or on paper or on our cell phones that needs to be attended to. So what's the difference you might wonder. Well homes that are built in areas that have sustained sub freezing temperatures are str

Home Generator Musings
Home Generator Musings. First of all let me welcome you to my blog. This is literally the first on topic post and I hope you will become a frequent participant here. Here in the Pacific Northwest we have been experiencing what they are now calling a "Bomb Cyclone" The scientific term for what we have been experiencing is "Explosive Cyclogenesis" This is not a new storm definition at all. It's been a documented event going back many decades and it is the exact type of storm ev

Where it began
I was motivated to start blogging after having both read and thoroughly enjoying the blog one of my best friends had created. His name was Andy and his blog related to his Horse/Mule Packing business in Montana. The information he provided and good humor he did it with was truly inspiring but the one thing that really stood out to me was the title of it. He called it Coffee with Andy which created a comfortable low pressure atmosphere where information could be shared on a ta
